Creating Instagrammable Spaces

Hey hey!

Does you business attract a younger lot with fancy phones waiting to click selfies?

Then your products are not the only thing they are buying.

They are collecting content they can post at a moment's notice. Maybe even looking for a nook where they can stream from.

If your space isn’t camera-ready, you’re missing out on free promotion from the people already walking through your doors.

Make it easy for people to post...

You just need the right bait. Forget overhauling your whole space.

Instead, intentionally plant 'content traps' where customers can’t resist posting.

👉 Start with one great visual anchor: a bold wall, cheeky mirror, or a neon quote that screams ‘take a pic with me.’

Example: A small salon can add a mirror that says 'Hello, Gorgeous!" in handwritten script. Clients snap post-hair selfies every single day. The salon reposts them with cute captions which is essentially free marketing on autopilot.

But don’t stop there.

👉 Layer in some caption cues.

Add a tiny chalkboard or tabletop sign that says:

  • ‘Spotted at @your_biz_name’
  • ‘I came for _______, stayed for the __________.’
  • Or add a picture with ‘Caption this’.

Make it a fill-in-the-blank, a prompt, or even a little dare.

When it’s easy to post, more people do.

And finally, when you have the budget, create content pockets around your space.

👉 Think:

  • A cosy flat lay shelf with your products and props customers can play with
  • A fancy waiting chair with a stylised, thoughtful quote on the wall behind it
  • A funny note inside the bathroom mirror saying, ‘You look too good not to take a selfie here’

It is all bout giving your customer a fresh reason to pause, snap, and tag you.

Hey hey! Most people don’t announce the moment they decide to trust you. They can't. But they remember how your words made them feel, often forgetting URLs, especially if they don't bookmark as extravagantly as I do. A blog is where that decision often begins. At its best, a blog, yes the one that is gathering dust, is a steady way of building confidence. A good blog says more than it sells... The role of long-form content has shifted. It’s no longer about pushy, salesy, punch lines after...

Hello folks! There is a saying: If you’re showing up online for everyone, you’re showing up for no one. You better believe it. Local brick-and-mortar businesses thrive when their posts feel like they know the neighbourhood audience better than anyone else. Let's make it happen in this issue. Act like a local media outlet, just with more product shots... Instead of pushing broad promos, tie your content to what’s happening right outside your door. This works really well for product-based...

Hello folks! A while back, I came across a social account with beautiful pictures but something felt off. I scrolled through the feed, re-read the bio, checked the captions. Everything looked good. Then I opened the gallery view and looked at the photos as a whole (gasped) and there they were: the scribbles. Text everywhere — on the top, the sides, the bottom. In pink, blue, white, neons (seriously). Since then, I’ve been meaning to write about fonts (or rather, the abundance of them) and why...
